David Williams becomes IADR President
Professor David Williams took over from Prof J. M. 'Bob' ten Cate as President of the International Association for Dental Research at the IADR General Session in Miami, April 2009. David is presently Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences at the University of Southampton and was Chair of the Dentistry sub-panel in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (http://www.soton.ac.uk/about/sotonpeople/davidwilliams.html).
David is the fourth member of the Society to be elected President of the IADR following Martin Rushton (1964), Graham Embery (2001) and Stephen Challacombe (2003). To emphasise the current leadership strengths of the Society, two other members of the BSDR are also current Board members of the IADR: Tony Smith (Birmingham) and Angus Walls (Newcastle) in the roles of Editor and Treasurer respectively.
